Not everyone is limited to going away in the school holidays, and an off-peak holiday can actually have its benefits, as well as its disadvantages.
Advantages tend to come in the form of seclusion and low cost. Wherever you decide to go away, it’s going to be quieter outside of the school holidays. This means you have fewer crowds at the tourist locations, more sun beds on the beach, and more seats and spaces available in restaurants.
There are drawbacks to an off-peak holiday package, and the range of food on offer (if you was all inclusive) is likely to be limited, especially when the season is coming to a close, such as in September.
Another drawback is related to atmosphere, because whilst seclusion is great the atmosphere in pubs and entertainment venues is going to be a different, perhaps the entertainment will also be limited. That’s why it is important to decide on what you want to get out of your holiday before you go choose a date, because time changes everything.
