With the summer holidays only a week away many parents are busy booking last minute getaways. If you are planning on staying in the UK for your family holiday then you may be tempted to wait until you can see what the weather forecast is before booking but this may mean you struggle to book the place you want to. Some booking companies allow you to book in advance and cancel up to the day before arrival without incurring a charge. This is usually in hotels or B and B’s. This will allow you to secure a place but give you the option of cancelling if the weather looks like it is going to be bad.
Even if you wait until you can see the forecast for the week ahead there is no guarantees that it will stay as predicted. Very often the weather forecast changes and what may have looked like a beautiful sunny week can end up very mixed.
Ideally try and book somewhere which has plenty of activities to do come rain or shine. Sometimes just getting away is all you need regardless of the weather. Pack clothes for all weathers and always remember to stick a pair of wellies in for the kids as they are often quite happy walking across the beach, paddling their feet in the sea is a good waterproof pair of wellies.
